What ‘Dancing With The Stars’ Pro Britt Stewart’s Eats In A Day

Britt Stewart, the new dance pro on season 29 of ABC’s Dancing With the Stars, has been stealing hearts and lighting up the stage with partner Johnny Weir.

The duo kicked off the season with lots of high scores—and they’ve worked hard for every single one of ’em. In fact, they haven’t had a day off since rehearsals started. “Every day, we’re practicing for three hours,” Britt tells Women’s Health.

Of course, all of that high-energy training (and their even higher-energy performances) require a lot of fuel—and Britt does *not* mess around with her diet.

Britt’s been gluten-free for 11 years for health reasons, and always stays attuned to her body cues. “I really believe in intuitive eating and listening to your body, and not in the fad diets that are popular in the moment,” she says. For her, this mindful approach is the key to feeling satisfied and energized.

Here’s exactly what Britt Stewart eats in a day to feel and perform at her best when she’s rehearsing for DWTS.

Breakfast

With Britt’s early rehearsal schedule, breakfast isn’t always possible. “I love, love, love breakfast food, but I don’t always wake up with a big appetite,” she explains. “So, I’ll start my morning with coffee.”

She won’t sip just any cuppa, though. “I’m particular about what kind of coffee I use,” Britt says. “I like to use organic beans that I know don’t have pesticides and stuff like that, so I’m at least doing that for my body.”

She usually adds a bit of sugar, cinnamon, and half-and-half to her java. “If it’s a special day, I will do a Moroccan coffee with a splash of orange blossom water and a little bit of condensed milk.” YUM.

When she has time for a little something more, Britt has a favorite green smoothie that includes avocado, mango, pineapple, coconut water, flax seeds, hemp seeds, and MCT oil.

Otherwise, she opts for a yogurt and granola. “It’s a honey Greek yogurt and I do that over papaya with some-gluten free granola, blueberries, coconut, and honey.”

On filming days, Britt definitely takes advantage of the catering: “When I get there, I’ll have a coffee right away and order breakfast,” she says. “I will have eggs and avocado and a protein, like turkey bacon or regular bacon.”

Snack

When Britt’s main three meals don’t quite give her enough cals to balance her workouts, snacks fill in the gaps. “I do my three big meals a day; but when I’m in rehearsal and my schedule is crazy, I’m burning a lot of calories and I need to refuel, so I will eat snacks throughout the day,” she explains.
