Boland, Paul D. ALBANY Paul D. Boland entered into eternal life on February 11, 2021, at the age 58. Paul was the son of the late John A. Boland and Mary (Gara) Boland. Born in Albany, Paul spent his adult life residing in Colonie and was devoutly religious, passionate about his family, loved all animals especially his dogs and cats, Nicholas, Alexandra, Princess, Olivia, and Charlie. He had a keen interest in military history and accrued a vast knowledge and many interests including military artifacts and the beverage industry. Paul was the former vice-president and warehouse manager of John J. Boland Distributors in Troy, which was affiliated with Anheuser-Busch and Utica Club. Paul was also an avid sports fan of his beloved St. Louis Cardinals. Paul had a great sense of humor and enjoyed spending time with family at the ocean, and his many trips to Ireland with his father. He was the beloved brother of Eileen Boland, Kathleen (Paul) DiLello and John C. Boland. He was a devoted uncle to his nieces and nephews, Aron (Lisa) Lanza, Maureen LaChance, Kelly (Joseph) Kavanaugh, Matthew (Sarah) Winant, Bryan DiLello, and Brendan (Lexi) DiLello, and enjoyed spending time with all of them. In addition, he had several great-nieces and nephews, Liam Swiatek, Michael LaChance, Sara and Sebastian Lanza, Cashlin and Calliope Kavanaugh, Xander Winant and Ryleigh DiLello. Paul was predeceased by his sister, Anne (Nancy) Shea. The family would like to express their appreciation to the doctors and nurses at Albany Medical Center Intensive Care Unit for the care and support they provided Paul over the years. Friends and relatives may call at New Comer Cremations & Funerals, 343 New Karner Rd, Colonie on Thursday, February 18, from 10 a.m. to 12 p.m. for the wake and funeral Mass, with Christian burial to follow in Our Lady of Angels Cemetery in Colonie. A special memorial Mass to celebrate Paul’s life will be held at a later date once COVID-19 restrictions have been lifted. Social distancing, masks, and occupancy limitations in the funeral home due to COVID-19 protocols are required.
