Ingredients

2 cups Strawberries, halved and tops removed
- 1 cup Sugar
- 1 cup Water

¼ cup Fresh basil leaves
For the Strawbery-Basil Limoncello Martini:
- 1 oz. Strawberry-basil simple syrup

1 oz. Limoncello
-
1 oz. Vodka
- 1 oz. Freshly squeezed lemon juice
- Ice

Fresh strawberry for garnish, optional

Fresh basil bunch for garnish, optional
- Lemon twist for garnish, optional
For the Strawbery-Basil Syrup:
Directions
To make the Strawbery-Basil Syrup:

In a small saucepan, combine the strawberries, sugar, water, and basil for the simple syrup.
- Stir constantly to dissolve the sugar and mash the strawberries as the syrup cooks to help absorb the strawberry flavor.
- Remove from the fire as soon as the sugar has dissolved.
- Steep for at least 10 minutes to ensure the full flavor has been extracted.
- Strain, pressing down on the strawberries, and chill in an airtight jar in the refrigerator. You can do this several weeks in advance.
To make the Strawbery-Basil Syrup:

In a cocktail shaker, combine the strawberry-basil simple syrup, limoncello, vodka, and lemon juice with a handful of ice.
- Shake vigorously for 30 seconds with the top on.

Fill a chilled martini glass halfway with ice.
- Garnish the drink with a strawberry, basil leaf, and lemon twist, if desired. Enjoy!
Recipe Note
For best results, chill the serving glasses. A cold glass will help keep your cocktail delightfully chilled.
