Discretion Brewing, a family-owned company, specializes in high quality and well developed, award winning beer.
Their flagship IPA, Uncle Daves, has won the Great American Beer Festival award, one of the largest and prestigious awards in the world.
Owners Robert and Kathleen Genco have been at their current location, 2703 41st Ave. in Soquel, since 2013. Here they create, taste and distribute their delicious fermented nectar to the county. Currently they have expanded their beer garden to three times the original size to give customers more than 6 feet of social distancing space outdoors.
The expanded space also gives patrons a place to eat from The Kitchen. The Kitchen at Discretion is run by talented chef Santos Majano, where he services up local, farm fresh and Discretion beer-inspired eats. There is only one more month of chef Majano’s menu, he is leaving Discretion soon and a local chef, yet to be named, is taking over next month.
So don’t miss out on delectable eats such as the flat iron steak dish served with cheese polenta, salsa verde, and a fried egg. Or their chili fried rice made with egg, turnips, Brussels sprouts, house pickles, with pork belly added. Just want some veggies? Grab their roasted Brussels sprouts made with bacon, maple syrup, pecans, and fresh herbs. If you’re in the mood for something warm to heat you up, they also offer Ramen and House made pozole that you don’t want to miss out on.
Discretion is open for beer and food to go from noon to 7 p.m. Wednesday-Monday and beer only from noon to 5 p.m. Tuesdays.
